I haven't had the chance to write for a few days. Not much going on. I went to a movie the other night (Tuesday maybe? I have already forgotten). It went okay. I have only been to a couple movies since I have been hurt and they have all been disasters. So what possessed me to go to one the other night, I am not sure. Well actually I do, I needed to get out of my apartment because my nurse was making me crazy. Anyways I was not so enamoured of the experience that I will be going to another movie soon but I might go more often than I have been. Appparently Tuesday night is the night go because the theatre was virtually empty. We saw Earth on the IMAX screen. Not sure if was worth the extra $3 to watch it on IMAX as opposed to the normal screen where it was also showing. But the IMAX screening was the only option in terms of time once we got there. I had never heard of this movie before but our choices were limited that late (almost 10 pm) between Earth and 17 again. Earth was a better choice. It's a Disney nature documentary filled with adorable beyond words fluffy baby polar bears and time exposed shots of flowers blooming over the span of a few seconds. Not bad. But also scenes of animals attacking and eating each other and others starving to death (including the father of the cute baby polar bears). Not really a good choice for little kids (we had none with us). But worth a watch.
I am leaving very shortly for my second eye surgery. I have to be there very early. I know what to expect this time so it should be less stressful. I will also be having my other eye checked today. It seems to have healed up very well from the post-surgery infection that came from the problem with the dislodged suture. I think the vision in that eye has stabilized now as I haven't noticed my vision fluctuating for the past few days. So maybe today I can get some kind of idea of what the actual correction from the surgery was. I am seeing pretty good out of that eye. Not perfect but enough that I can read and watch tv without glasses or contacts, although my eye seems to get very tired and sore quicker than usual. So things are still not ideal with it. But that's okay. I am still very happy with the results so far. I will be very nice to have the second one done. I'll try to see about somebody posting an update later today but I am expecting the surgery to be uneventful. I am not freaking out this time. Well at least not as much.

I went to the Leonard Cohen concert last night. I wasn't expected to but then two tickets in the wheelchair seating area were given to me. Thanks very much DJ. This was back to back concerts since Saturday I had been out to see the Weakerthans. I am pretty worn down today but it was a wonderful show. My favorite song of the night was "Closing Time." I tried to post this yesterday but couldn't get it to work. He brought the house down last night with this:
Thank you for those who have commented on here or by email about my posts about Brent. I was unsure that I should write about him. I appreciate very much those who have written back.
I haven't posted the pictures of Jasper yet but I will when I have more energy to go through the pictures. For those who have indicated they would like to come and explore Banff and Jasper, I hope you will some day. Especially those from Oregon, as you are not really all that so far away :)
On this week's agenda is my second eye surgery which is scheduled for Thursday. I am still waiting to find out what my vision in the first eye is going to turn out as. So far my vision seems to be pretty good but I have really been bothered by glare (still wearing the giant solar shield sunglasses unfortunately, which my nephew Spencer is convinced are x-vision glasses) and my eye fatigues very quickly. But the earlier problems did resolve themselves with time so I just need to be patient. I have been happy enough with the results to go ahead with the second eye. I have not been allowed to wear a contact lens in the uncorrected eye for the past two weeks, as per the pre-surgery instructions. So pretty much I have been going around blind in that eye as my coke bottle lensed glasses don't work with the other corrected eye anymore. It was very disorienting but eventually I got used to it. But it will be very nice to see out of both eyes again and have them working in sync.
I guess that is all for now. Oh and we went to the concert in a full blown blizzard. A "can't see the car in front of you on the road" type of blizzard. I think at one point it was even hailing which was crazy. I have come to the conclusion that winter is not going to end in Calgary this year. It is just going to continue on until next November or whatever.

After writing that we weren't seeing much of Jasper we took a trip to Maligne Canyon yesterday evening. The park guide said the first 4 km of the trail were paved and fully accessible but cautioned the trail was "very steep in places." The guide wasn't lying. I wasn't all that comfortable I have to admit and thought about turning around a few times. And at the end I had to go across a bridge that I wasn't all that eager to cross. But the effort was worth it as this was the view I got.

Jasper National Park is one of 5 of the "Rocky Mountain National Parks." Four of these parks are actually physically connected and in effect create one giant national park that straddles the border of Alberta and British Columbia. Banff and Jasper are in Alberta and Yoho and Kootney National Parks are on the BC side. Jasper is the most northern of these parks. The 5th park is Waterton Lakes National Park located off by itself in Southern Alberta where also creates a large contiguous area physically bordering with Glacier National Park in Montana. I have visited all these parks and it is hard to say which one is the most beautiful as they all have unique features and are so different. But this view had me thinking that, at least for today, Jasper is my favorite. Taken on the road to Maligne Canyon.

We had some technical difficulties earlier trying to post pictures. Here are a few. I am working on adding to the thread and posting it as I add more shots so check back to it later.
The main room of our cabin. Picture taken before my nephew arrived. Pretty much it now looks like the Tasmanian Devil whorled through.
The Queen's cabin. Very close to our cabin which is a slightly smaller version of this cabin and pretty much looks the same. I told you it was ostentatious!
Tuesday part 2
Yay I got some pictures. And my sister in law has been helping me crop and resize because the feature for that on blogger has gone all haywire on me. So thanks to her for that.
1. As promised the Queen's cabin which is very close to our cabin. I posted on the weekend about the golf course and the large amount of unusually green grass (for this time of year) I observed at certain non golf course places around the lodge property. Well here is one perfect example. The grass by this cottage is suspiciously far greener than the grass around the cheaper priced cabins. Could be just due to location. But I don't think so. Not that it matters but I just find it funny. I don't have an exterior shot of our cabin with this group of photos but our cabin essentially looks the same, just slightly smaller. I don't know that I want to post it because I admit it makes me feel a little embarrassed how big it is. Definately a step up from the last time I stayed in Jasper which was when my friend Dena and I came to hike and spent 2 nights at the Jasper International Hostel. We paid $13 a night to stay in a 28 person dorm. (I should say that it was probably the cleanest hostel I have ever stayed at and was the only place within the park that fit our student budgets so I am not complaining).

I posted last night but when I tried to edit to put a picture in the post is gone :( I may have deleted by accident.
It is our last full day here. 4 nights doesn't seem enough but unfortunately everybody (except me apparently) has lives and jobs to get back to. We will be leaving sometime tomorrow and heading home through Banff. While I am tempted to spend tomorrow night in Lake Louise, as I said, everybody but me has to get back to Calgary. I just found out that the Columbia Icefields glacier tours are fully accessible. Which really surprised me but apparently it is true. This opened up the possibility of stopping there tomorrow if we left earlier enough since it is on the way. But after thinking it over I realized that the Icefields are close enough to Calgary that a trip out there could be done in one day. Jasper, while it isn't really all that far from Calgary relatively speaking, isn't a day trip. At least not for me. And so we are going to spend the morning poking around Jasper and then just drive straight to Calgary. Although my common sense tells me if I was going to do the glacier now is the time before the crowds start. However I am getting enough of the staring at treatment here that I am not so sure I want to go become a spectacle on a glacier. Yes I am too sensitive but there are times I don't handle it well. Today is one of those days when I just would rather drop down a giant rabbit hole that go out as I am.
Anyways enough of the self-pity for now. My sister in law and nephew arrived yesterday to spend the final two nights of our trip with us which has been very nice. My cousin drove them and spent the night then went back and then they will come home with us. And here I was wondering what we would do with all the bedrooms we had. They have all been filled up nicely in fact. We went to the pool so my nephew could burn off some of his energy (he is 2 and a half...enough said). The outdoor pool is heated so is open all year round. It is gorgeous and fully accessible with a wheelchair ramp leading right from the change room into the pool. There is also an indoor pool although I haven't seen it yet. Anyways a very nice pool attendant came over and told me they had a chair that I could use if I wanted t o go in the pool. This got my nephew all excited because he thought I could go swimming with him. It was pretty upsetting for me when I told him I couldn't and he kept repeating "please come." I would have loved to just to make him happy. Unfortunately there was no way to accommodate the ventilator. In the past I have gone in a pool during physical therapy sessions but of course not thinking that there would be a pool here I could conceivably use quite easily, we didn't think of it. I say that somewhat wistfully because I don't know that even if it had been possible it I would have been comfortable going in the water. This is the first time my nephew (this particular one) has specifically asked me to do something with him that I haven't been able to. In the end it was no big deal to him because another lodge employee presented him with a toy boat and he promptly forgot all about me once he got it in his hands. But it bothered me. And still is bothering me.
We haven't left the lodge properly much to explore as we thought we might. Besides the fact that it is so nice here, I have been very tired and not much up to exploring. The road trip took a lot out of me and so I have been taking it easy for the most part. I thought maybe that would ruin the trip somewhat as we came to see Jasper National Park and are really only seeing one very small slice of it. But everybody else seems content to just hang around here. I admit that finding out that things had gone downhill so quickly for Brent has taken away something from this trip. I know it does no good to think this way because there is absolutely no connection between the two things but I was almost feeling like going on a trip like this seems so pointless in the big picture of things. Having my nephew here who is just a few months older than Brent also had me thinking about a number of things. My sister in law is currently fighting her own very difficult battle with cancer and so there are many different emotions. I was so happy she was able to come to Jasper for at least part of the stay.
Some pictures maybe later today. Nobody has taken them off their cameras for me yet.

Day 2

Arthur Conan Doyle was right about this place...it's more than a little unbelievable. Thank you for the story Timaru :)
We were late leaving Edmonton and then dawdled along the road once we crossed into the borders of the park so I haven't had time to explore the lodge much as all yet. First impression is wow. It's greener than I expected for this time of year but there is also a golf course at the lodge, which is already open, so I am guessing there is some artificialness or at least extra coaxing going into making things greener than they might be on their own. There is a paved path that goes for a good distance around the perimetre of the lake which I hope to explore on Sunday.
Our cabin is right beside the lake. It's not the one the Queen stays at. Apparently she and Philip (and her parents before her) stay in the 6 bedroom top of the line cabin that is a short distance down the shore from us. We are in one of the "mid" level cabins. Not the shabbiest, but not the nicest either. Oh well. I suppose I will make do.

Thoughts on Edmonton

Just a quick update for now. More this evening if I can. We were supposed to leave for Jasper by 8:30 am. It's now 9:22 am and we are not even close to leaving. Where have I written this before? lol
Although we were very late leaving Calgary the drive to Edmonton went well. We took a small detour at Red Deer to go to Sylvan Lake to visit my cousin Seth. Then we stopped at the Walmart in Lacombe to get new windshield wipers. The van has needed them for at least 4 months but of course it never got done until one of the blades literally flew off the van because the rubber rotted through. Since it looked like it would rain, we thought it best we stop and get new ones. In a moment of madness I decided to go into Walmart rather than waiting in the van.
We did finally make it to Edmonton in the late afternoon. There is an intense rivalry between Calgary and Edmonton and as somebody who has lived in the Calgary area most of my life, I have been conditioned to dislike and insult Edmonton--for not other reason that it is the inferior city. And likewise people in Edmonton detest Calgary. Actually I think all of Canada detests Calgary but anyways, I think that for the first time ever I can appreciate what a beautiful place Edmonton is. There are no mountains, so in the way it maybe lacks some of the dramatic views that one can get around Calgary. But the enormous North Saskatchewan River flows right through the city and for a city of close to a million people, there is an amazing amount of green space. Central Alberta is so different from the foothills of Southern Alberta that I am used to. I am willing to concede I may have been unfair in my previous assessment of Edmonton as a place I would never want to live. The sad thing is I have been to Edmonton many many times. I have just never "noticed" it before.
One thing that would keep me away though--the weather is bitterly cold and unlike Calgary where we at least get the relief of the chinook winds to break up the cold. The deep freeze in Edmonton can last 6 or 7 months. Or more. My favorite Edmonton comment I have ever heard came from my friend Rob who once referred to Edmonton as "the only city colder than my ex-wife's black heart" lol
(Actually Rob has never been married but it was still an incredibly funny and memorable quote)
Anyways if you have never been to Edmonton, I would encourage a visit. I wish we had more than a few hours here. More pictures later as I am out of time but here is one shot from last night. We were right downtown at the Marriot. I admit it was a weird feeling as I can't recall the last time I stayed anywhere that was as "downtown" as this. Even in Vancouver last summer we stayed more off centre.

We were supposed to leave no later than 9 am. It's now 10:04 and we are not even close to leaving.
At the request of an American friend who is unfamiliar with Alberta geography I am going to post maps. An overview of day 1, the blue line showing today's part of the trip. We aren't really going that far (about 300 km). But as I mentioned yesterday concerns about my ability to travel with my collar bone had us looking to find the best way to split up the trip. I would have loved to travel through Banff and up Icefields Parkway in order to be in Jasper later this afternoon. But it is better to err on the side of caution and split the trip into 2 days. There really was nowhere that could serve as an appropriate half way point if we took the shorter route. So through Edmonton it is, although I don't get to see that part of the province very often so this will work out.

Jasper Forecast
As luck would have it, there is not a lot of sun forecast for most of the time we will be in Jasper (Saturday through Wednesday). It is forecast to start getting warmer and sunnier on our last full day there which will be Tuesday. We will be leaving Wednesday morning. Oh well. I guess some sun is better than none.
Me and the Queen Hang Out in the Same Places
I am going on a mini holiday this weekend. Tomorrow morning we are leaving for Jasper National Park for a few days. Tomorrow night we are staying in Edmonton. Then we will be staying at this place while in Jasper, in a private cabin beside the lake. It's more than a little ostentatious but I suppose that is okay. I am pretty limited when it comes to hotel accomodations that will work for me and my necessary entourage. It seems the more money you are willing/able to pay for a place to stay, the more willing the establishment is to work with you to ensure your needs are met. It makes me feel a little depressed. To return to ostentatious: this is where Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip have stayed a couple of time when visiting Alberta. The last time they stayed at the Fairmont Jasper was in May 2005 when they came to celebrate the centenaries of Alberta and Saskatchewan. I will have to dig out the pictures I took of the millisecond their car passed by me as I stood beside the road eagerly waiting to catch a glimpse when they were in Calgary, loyal subject of Her Majesty that I am. Maybe we will even have the same cabin they had.
The possibility of a trip came up last month but I was undecided if I wanted to go. We booked the cabin and my plan was if I didn't use it somebody else in my family could. But I really need to get out of the city. It's driving me insane. Jasper has been on my mind for some time. But if I was going to go there at all I wanted to do it before the crush of tourists and tourist season starts with the May long weekend. Although if last summer in Tofino is any indication, the tourists are all staying at home due to the recession. I am not entirely sure yet what I will do there. Sit on the terrace of the cabin and stare at the lake probably. I think there are some accessible trails in the area but I haven't really looked into it much yet. Maybe today I will do some research.
Mostly I just want to be somewhere that isn't a city. And yet tomorrow night I am staying right in the heart of downtown Edmonton. Go figure. And we are taking the long route to Jasper. Because of my collar bone, driving time needs to be limited. Doing it this way will allow 3 hours to get to Edmonton tomorrow and then 3 hours to Jasper on Saturday morning. The plan right now is to come home down the icefields parkway through Banff, which is about a 4 hour drive. Depending how well the getting there part of the trip goes, that is how we will come home. If it's a problem for me to travel longer without a break, then we will come back through Edmonton again. Hopefully this goes well. I am pessimistic as always. But Jasper truly is a beautiful place and worth all the planning and hassle of getting there.

Highlights of the past few days:
Friday: I went to an easter potluck at my sister's house. I unknowingly ate lamb (I thought it was beef). After flirting with the idea of vegetarianism for some time now, the thought of eating a little fluffy white lamb was enough to convince me to stop eating meat. This decision was also aided by my vegetarian cousin April, who was the one to point out I was eating lamb and who then proceeded to share in great detail her experience of once working on a lamb farm in Australia. Without prompting she shared much more than I wanted or needed to hear.
Saturday: trip to the bird sanctuary. More pictures forthcoming.
Sunday: It was a very warm day so I set out for the Starbucks about 5 blocks away sans my van. Along the way we had to pass by the relatively new casino on the native reservation that borders my neighbourhood. And long story short I ended up there. I put $20 in a machine because it had goldfish and I thought they were cute. And I left with $87. I got a lot of weird looks. I guess the patrons of the Gray Eagle Casino are not used to seeing somebody gamble with a mouth stick. Sigh. It probably would have bothered me a lot more but I was too busy drinking a giant fish bowl sized frozen strawberry margarita to care if anybody was staring. Well I guess its more correct to say worries over that declined in proportion to my consumption of the margarita. Then, after doing so well for 2 full days of being meat free, I fell off the bandwagon when I impulsively ordered an "Indian taco" in the casino's cafe (I skipped the easter buffet, which was what those with me had). This consisted of buffalo chili on top of a piece of bannock. And while I am not sure, I think this is the very first time I have ever eaten buffalo. So much for vegetarianism. However later I was struck with guilt thinking about how much I admired and was captivated by all the buffalo roaming around freely in Elk Island national park last fall. So this had some echos of the lamb incident.
Monday: I went to a Gordon Lightfoot concert. In a somewhat serendipitous chain of events, two days after I heard The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald and wondered why I never bothered to listen to Gordon Lightfoot's music much before, I found out he was coming to Calgary. This was about 3 weeks ago maybe a bit longer. In between obtaining tickets and last night's show, I had given my ticket away suddenly remembering the fiasco of the Barenaked Ladies concert last year and my vow to never attend another concert. Thankfully the person I gave the tickets to understands me better than I realized and took the offered ticket only to humour me. He left it stuck to my fridge with a magnet on the assumption I would change my mind. At first this outraged me and I was determined to give the ticket to somebody else. But sanity prevailed and I went and had a good time. My grandmother (a few weeks shy of her 84th birthday) also came, which was great. It was a very nice show. I might write a few more thoughts on it when I have some time. In the meantime here are a few videos because I have had his songs in my head all day. An older video and a newer one.
It's been a busy few days. From one extreme to another, today I haven't accomplished one single thing.

I started posting pictures earlier today but got side tracked. And ended up at a casino of all places. Long story. I even managed to win 67 bucks on a nickle slot machine that had goldfish on it. This comes on the heels of me getting half drunk last night on belgian raspberry ale. I am just living it up apparently. More pictures and accounts of this weekend's adventures tomorrow. Sleep beckons. I've been busy.

The tentative plan is to go to the bird sanctuary today. If I make it I will have some pictures to post this evening. I am still undecided if I want to go. It would probably make me feel better to get out of the house and it's nice out. So I should.
But I am feeling very depressed. Days like this make me miss walking really bad for some reason.

My eye is continuing to improve. I have finally been able to shed the patch although bright lights and sunshine are still really bothering me so if I go outside I am stuck wearing those giant sunglass shield things which makes me look ridiculous but what can you do. My vision is still fluctuating but yay! I can see pretty good. It's a weird and an amazing feeling. The recovery from the surgery has been more difficult than I expected but I can't wait now to have the other eye done next month.
Speaking of sunshine it appears that spring might finally be here. Although I am not too confident that another snowfall isn't on the horizon. But after several weeks of blizzards and gray skies, the sun has decided to revisit my foresaken city. It's been averaging about 16 degrees celcius which might not sound very warm but considering it was -30 about 2 weeks ago it feels like a tropical paradise. I thought to get out to the Inglewood bird sanctuary today, something that was planned several weeks ago but had to be cancelled because of the weather. That is a no go because apparently they are closed today for the Good Friday holiday, something I find a little bizarre. I may go get out to Starbucks but I don't know. I am having a pretty unmotivated week.

My concerns for today:
1. I recently changed my internet provider from Shaw to Bell. And my conclusion is: Bell sucks. Something I already knew from having them as my cell phone carrier and perhaps should have remembered before I switched. But I decided to give their (allegedly much faster and much cheaper and portable) new Wi-Max internet service a try. After finding out it really isn't as portable as claimed and getting a massive (yes massive...I had to triple check it to make sure the decimal point was not in the wrong place) bill in the mail today for my first month of service, I am left pondering this: if "unlimited internet plan" really means "sort of unlimited but actually not really unlimited at all internet plan" why not just market it as thus? I am cancelling and going back to Shaw. Shaw sucks as well but at least they are upfront about what they are overcharging you for.
2. What three and a half year old utters the term "old school"? My nephew, that is who! While on the phone today he tried to scam me into agreeing to buy him an "old school Optimus Prime" transformer doll for his birthday (his birthday is a very long time away, might I add, but he's taking initiative apparently). It turns out, after clarifying with my mother who had also been similarly pressured by him, that the item in question is a special 25th anniversary "original" edition of the toy. One that is a very different version that the current toy rendering of Optimus Prime (I have no clue...that is just what she told me). He was very clear in his demands: he didn't want the "new one" it has to be the "old school one."
On a related note, it turns out that his parents told him he would get this item for his next birthday provided he was a "good boy." Since he has so far, at least to my knowledge, hit up me, my mom, and my dad on different occasions for this toy, I am guessing he is covering his bases to make sure that he gets it whether he is a good boy or not. What a little con man!
3. I went for yet another eye checkup (my 4th in less than a week, I am getting too familar with the clinic staff). The infection is clearing, my vision is still hazy but much improved over Friday's eye exam and my eyes are now being more cooperative and are slowly starting to work a bit together again. Which means I am no longer as discombobulated as I was. Only semi-discombobulated now. Still need the patch some of the time but not all of the time. So progress!

Self hosted pity party
So I didn't think it was possible for me to become less physically able and more dependent on others than I already am but apparently being semi-blinded, even if temporarily, has done just that. I can't do much of anything right now and am breaking the ban on my laptop because I am going to go absolutely crazy very soon. I am not regretting the surgery. I was told the first week of recovery might be very difficult. And that is proving true. While my vision has been fluctuating a lot in my left eye I know gotten at least some idea of what it will be like when it all heals up. So this was still a good decision. But I am not a real happy person right now I have to admit. I am pretty frustrated.
Before I forget thank you for the well wishes on here and by email since my surgery. I don't know that I thanked people yet. I am behind on my email but that is the story of my life it seems.
I am going to get rid of the character recognition thing. I apologize as I know it is a real pain in the ass for those who don't have fully functioning hands. Well I think its probably even a pain for those who do. I personally loathe character recognition on any website. I thought I had gotten rid of it a few weeks ago but I guess I didn't do it properly. Sorry about that everybody :(
off topic to assuage my self pity I am having a slaw dog from tubby dog for dinner even though I am not that hungry. It's totally unhealthy and messy but its comfort food.

Things can never just be simple for me.
Setback with my eye. The appointment on Friday showed a suture became dislodged and caused an infection. Serious but not unheard of in this surgery. Fixable but it means even more eye drops and back to the dreaded patch for another couple of days. It should be cleared up by Monday thinks the surgeon. The good news is the problem with the suture did not cause the implant to move so its okay. I just need to really take it easy with my eyes for the next few days. And so what am I doing? I am on my laptop exactly what I shouldn't be doing. I am having somebody help me with reading and writing so I am not totally ignoring the doctor's advice. More craziness, one of the eye drops I am on has affected my eye muscles meaning my eye isn't really able to move. This is good for healing the affected eye but not great for my other eye which is being affected by proxy or what the surgeon calls sympathy. Eyes are fascinating and weird things. I am going to post more details about the actual surgery when I can because it was actually quite an interesting process. The next surgery should be the first week in May if my left eye heals as expected. Which it should. This is just a momentary setback according to the surgeon.
And so it goes. I am missing my twilight books.

Things are still blurry but this morning I can see out of my eye! Actually see things without glasses or contacts! Having needed glasses since I was 3 this is a pretty cool thing. My other eye hasn't been corrected yet and the two eyes don't seem to be working in sync yet although there has been noticable improvement since last night. Reading is still out but my eye isn't so sensitive to light. I had some pain last night but today its just returned to feeling like something is in my eye which is driving me slightly insane but the eye surgeon says the feeling will go away. I am on a very regimented eye drop schedule which is causing some stress that is probably the biggest issue right now. I go back again tomorrow to the clinic for another check but so far everything seems to be turning out as it was supposed to.

I am pretty wiped out of energy still so just a quick update for now. My vision in the eye is still very blurry but today's check up showed the implanted lens unrolled itself into the proper position and is doing exactly what it is supposed to do. More on the surgery later. I don't know yet how well I am going to be able to see because it will take some time for my eye to heal and the vision to stabilize. Right now my vision in that eye is still hazy and very sensitive to light. And my other eye is on a sympathy strike with it so I am still out of sorts. It should start to clear a lot within a few days the surgeon says. But could take up to 4 weeks to get the maximum vision correction. Right now doing anything that requires using my eyes is pretty hard but getting a little better. No laptop or TV or reading. I am starting to get very bored. Thanks to my nurse Cheryl for being my typist.
Not sure yet how my eye is I had to keep it covered except for eyedrops. No pain just feels like something is pressing on my eye which is annoying. My other eye isn't working so well without its mate so I am a little disoriented when I try to focus on anything. I'm just getting ready to go back to the clinic.
