I was snooping around my oldest brother's facebook page today (I deactivated my account months ago so was using my cousin's account, at her urging). Apparently (according to a conversation I read on his wall) he just spent $39000 on a life sized transformer--not of the electrical type but of the comic book/movie kind.
What?
Now at first I thought he must have left out a decimal point and he meant it was $390.00. But in reply to a comment somebody else made, he wrote that he "would be paying it off over more than a few months." And since he makes a very comfortable living, I am going to assume that $400 wouldn't break his budget and require a long pay off schedule. Can he really have spent that much? Not to be judgemental--and I am sure his 8 year old son will be tickled pink with the giant robot--who pays that much for something like that? And what will they do with it?
Of course it's his money to do with what he pleases but all I can say is wow. Wow. Wow.
Prior to my injury I was working full time doing IT support and my yearly salary wasn't more than the robot. Apparently I was in the wrong line of work....
Crazy.
I am going to post pictures here when I see it. And I am not sure I believe him until I actually see it.

Yay I am so happy friends are still reading my recently neglected blog. I have been sort of neglectful of maintaining friendships this summer as well, due to my lack of internet access. But--I do have to say the flip side of no internet is that I have cut down my wasteful hours of surfing and have been doing things like reading books again. But I have missed everybody and hope I will be better now at staying in touch here and by email.
I hope everybody has had a nice summer so far.

Some pictures
I have had no internet access for most of time in BC. Which made updating difficult once I wanted to start writing again after I got over the funk I was in. I probably have no more readers left though. Hopefully somebody is still checking once in a while. Here are a few pictures.
